Moondancer's Human Counterpart — Moondancer's Human Form

Katherine Michelle Kelly Andersen, known professionally as Moondancer or in German as Mondtänzer, is a young sweater lady who works as a librarian in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is also an old friend to Twilight Sparkle during her childhood and her address is 10 Walada Avenue, Port Monmouth, New Jersey, coded 07758.

Depiction In Friendship Is Magic[]

Season 1[]

Moondancer's name is first mentioned in Friendship Is Magic Part 1 by Twinkleshine and Spike. Twinkleshine says to Twilight Sparkle that Moondancer is having a little get-together at the west castle courtyard, but Twilight denied the invitation in order to focus on her studies. Spike later accidentally ruins a gift for her after being knocked aside by Twilight.

Season 5[]

Moondancer I'm trying to study S5E12 — What do you want?! I'm trying to study!

Moondancer makes her first in-show appearance in Amending Fences. She is shown to be an asocial recluse, living alone in a dilapidated Canterlot house and focusing only on her studies. As a filly, she was friends with Twilight Sparkle. Twilight learns that after not showing up to the party Moondancer had thrown in the first episode, Moondancer became heartbroken and withdrawn, rejecting friendship altogether.

Twilight approaches Moondancer as a potential friend and appears to reach her at first due to the two's mutual love of learning and Twilight offering Moondancer the use of her old library home, but Moondancer eventually snubs her. After being lured to a party reminiscent of the one she had thrown, Moondancer vents her pent-up frustrations at Twilight. Twilight apologizes for the hurt she caused, and Moondancer comes to accept friendship once more. She is last seen playing a ball game with Twinkleshine, Lemon Hearts and Minuette.

In The Cutie Remark Part 1, Moondancer sits next to Spike during Twilight's speech, waking him when he falls asleep while changing slides.

Season 6[]

In Flutter Brutter, Moondancer is depicted in a photograph in Pinkie Pie's wallet.

Season 7[]

In Celestial Advice, Moondancer appears as a filly in Princess Celestia's flashback. She also appears on one of Twilight's mirror photos in Celestial Advice, Fame and Misfortune, and A Health of Information.

Season 8[]

Moondancer's picture on Twilight's mirror appears in School Daze Part 2.

Season 9[]

Moondancer is seen amongst King Sombra's brainwashed minions in The Beginning of the End Part 2. She and several others attempt to attack the Mane 6, but are trapped in a net by Rarity. She also appears in The Point of No Return, having lunch at The Tasty Treat along with First Folio, the two telling Twilight what happened to Dusty Pages.

In The Ending of the End Part 2, Moondancer takes shelter with other unicorns inside the School for Gifted Unicorns as Canterlot closes itself off from the other pony races. She also takes part in the final battle against Queen Chrysalis, Lord Tirek, and Cozy Glow after being encouraged by Raspberry Dazzle. In The Last Problem, Moondancer attends Twilight's coronation ceremony. She also briefly appears in Twilight's group shot during the song The Magic of Friendship Grows, including Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer.

In My Little Pony: The Movie, Moondancer appears very briefly in town and on a bridge during the song We Got This Together without her sweater on and her mane once again resembling Twilight's.

In the hour-long special My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Forgotten Friendship, Moondancer makes a brief cameo reading at the Canterlot Library.

Moondancer returns in Crystal Prep High Rocks as she sat in the rear seats of a black 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550 (W222) driven by Princess Amber along with Zooey sitting next to Amber and Potion Nova sitting next to her. Once they got to Nova's house afterwards, Nova missed her Lincoln LS V6 so much after her experience of being a science teacher for 70 years. The next morning, when Moondancer and Zooey eat scrambled eggs for breakfast, Amber and Nova suffered fatigue and eyestrain after having a video chat with Sofia all night. In addition, Amber informs Zooey that Sofia and the Shadowbolts are in Poland, but they will be departing for Prague, the Czech Republic real soon, so the four of them unite.

Once Amber, Moondancer, Nova and Zooey landed in Vienna, Austria, they found Coco Pommel at the airport alone and they decided to unite as a team to Prague in her 2003 Nissan Micra 4-Door. Pommel is delighted to see Nova having Amber and Zooey as her daughters, but they are Nova's associates rather than her daughters. As they arrive at the Grand Majestic Plaza in Prague afterwards, Moondancer is finally reunited with Sunny Flare and Amber finally reunites with Sofia again until she meets her twin for the first time.

Moondancer, Nova, Sofia and Zooey play tennis in France and she gets frustrated when the Mane 10 and the CMCs learn to speak other languages, including Spanish. She also plays Beach Tennis in Portimão, Portugal with Nova, Sofia and Zooey, go for a river cruise in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, do horseriding in Cegléd, Hungary and went for a hike in the Swiss alps outside Bern, Switzerland.

The Journey Continues[]

Moondancer returns in The Journey Continues as she returns from the library in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. Once she spotted Princess Hildegard stranded by the side of the road outside the city herself, she pulled over to offer her a lift, much to her appreciation. Given the fact that Hildy is off to find Amber, Moondancer knows Sofia and Amber since she travelled to Europe in the previous film. In addition, the duo introduce themselves. Once they got to Amber's house afterwards, no one is at home, only to find a note that Amber wrote behind her house. The note also mentioned Hildegard that Jade and Ruby Hanshaw has entered Canterlot High School (CHS), much to her anger and hate against them.
