Soaring is quite a wise pony, who had to grow up fast. She is caring and kind, but doesn't do very well around ponies she doesn't know. She doesn't make a good first impression because of this, and ponies often are not of the nicest towards her because she acts and looks like and outcast.

Soaring acts like she is really stuck up and not the nicest of ponies, but in reality she is shy and soft spoken. She loves nothing more then flying, and flying fast.

Soaring has a rather unusual appearance compared to other ponies. She is a pegasus and hedgehog hybrid, with deep blue spines and a ice blue coat. Her mane contains pastel rainbow colours and her tail is that of a hedgehog's with the first 4 colours of the pastel rainbow coming out of the end. She has tan markings around her muzzle and on her chest. Her eyes are the same colour as her biological father's, but lighter.

A long time before Soaring was born, Sonic left Rainbow Dash and returned to his home world. Rainbow was distraught, and upon finding out that she was pregnant made things worse. Rainbow decided to raise the child on her own with aid from her friends where she needed it. Because of this, Rainbow Dash was spending a lot of time at Sweet Apple Aches with Applejack, and she begun to be attracted to Big Macintosh. By this time Soaring was a teenager, so she was curious as to what Rainbow was thinking.

Three years passed and Rainbow Dash announced that her and Big Mac were to be getting married because once again Dash was pregnant. Soaring began to at this point wonder who her real father was and if she could ever meet him, but Rainbow said no, and that when he let he broke her heart in to pieces and she didn't want him to do the same to her beloved daughter. Soaring still wanted answers, why did she have spikes? Why was her muzzle yellow? Eventually she left to try to find out.
